"Business and pleasure," that's how El Al Israel Airlines vice president of commercial and industry affairs Michael Strassburger described the draw of the airline's newest destination in a statement earlier this month.
That destination is Las Vegas, and the Middle Eastern airline will be flying nonstop from Tel Aviv to McCarran Airport beginning in June.
"In recent years, Las Vegas has become very attractive for the Israeli leisure travelers and also among the business sector due to the many conferences and exhibitions held in the city," Strassburger said.
The 14-hour flight on a 787 Dreamliner will depart Tel Aviv on Friday mornings, with a return flight taking off from Las Vegas on Saturday nights. With the addition of the Las Vegas route as well as new flights to San Francisco launching in May, by next summer El Al will operate nonstop routes to seven North American cities, including New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Miami and Toronto.
