The Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board has
introduced an online training program, L.A. Insider,
which offers an educational component and marketing assets.
L.A. Insider is the first program of its kind for L.A.
Tourism. It was developed by TravPRO.
The program features marketing assets like fact sheets,
maps, videos and virtual reality tours of neighborhoods, as well as information
on Los Angeles International Airport's modernization program.
Agents who complete the online training will get a
certificate, the opportunity to participate in fams and access to discounts.
They will also be entered to win a trip to an awards show.
According to L.A. Tourism, the city saw a record number of
visitors in 2017 at 48.3 million. By 2020, that number is expected to increase
to 50 million.
L.A. Insider was designed for U.S. and Canadian agents; localized
modules for English-speaking international markets will be introduced in March.
It will also be available in the coming months in Spanish, French, German,
Korean and Japanese.
"The launch of L.A. Insider speaks to our commitment to
travel trade professionals by providing them with helpful tools they can use on
a daily basis as well as recognition for their expertise," L.A. Tourism
president and CEO Ernest Wooden Jr. said in a statement.
