The 53-room property, about 10 miles from Dubai International Airport, is located within the Heart of Sharjah historical development and "features a collection of four heritage houses once owned by local families closely intertwined with Sharjah's history," according to a statement from developers and General Hotel Management (GHM), which manages the property.

Property features include a museum, library, hammam, a helipad for guest arrivals, a fleet of Mercedes limousines and dining options inspired by Middle Eastern and Far Eastern cuisines, according to the statement.

Marwan bin Jassim Al Sarkal, executive chairman of the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), said that with the hotel's opening, "we have brought Shurooq's boutique hotel concept to life, where guests who seek the perfect balance of luxury and authenticity will be able to immerse themselves in true Emirati surroundings and experience second-to-none Arabic hospitality."

GHM, parent company of the Chedi resort brand, also manages properties in Bali, Oman, Switzerland and Montenegro, and the company has several properties under development in China and India.
