Sabre Corp. has achieved Level 3 certification as an
aggregator under IATA's New Distribution Capability standard and has added
several suppliers to its Beyond NDC distribution testing and development
program.
Now, all three of the major GDSs have achieved Level 3
aggregator status. Travelport was the first to achieve it in late 2017, and
Amadeus achieved it in July. Sabre already had Level 3 capabilities as an IT
provider.
In addition, Sabre announced Beyond NDC collaboration
relationships with Finnair, Singapore Airlines and United Airlines, as well as
three agencies: American Express Travel & Lifestyle Services, BCD Travel
and Corporate Travel Management. The project involves designing and
beta-testing capabilities based on the standard.
With United, for example, Sabre is developing shopping tools
led by schedule and availability queries, which Sabre said accounts for about
80% of all air shopping in its Sabre Red Workspace agency platform. Sabre
previously had announced American Express Global Business Travel, Carlson
Wagonlit Travel, Flight Centre Travel Group and American Airlines as partners
in the initiative.
