Liberty Travel's host agency, Independent by Liberty Travel, has introduced a new commission split structure.

Annual fees have been replaced with a choice of two monthly fees, effective this month. An agent keeps either 70% or 80% of the commission, depending on their membership level. The lowest monthly level, $29, comes with a 70-30 commission split. For $39 per month, agents get an 80-20 commission split.

The one-time enrollment fee is $199, and a contract that allows a 30-day cancellation is available.

All member agents have the opportunity to earn 90% commission on certain products regardless of their membership type. That commission level is reserved for hotels and resorts that are part of Liberty's Platinum Range of Products, more than 120 properties in the Caribbean, Central America, Hawaii and Mexico.

"With just a half year under our belts we are already looking at how to improve, how to make things easier and more profitable for our agents," general manager James Bovino said in a statement.

Independent by Liberty Travel was introduced https://www.travelweekly.com/Travel-News/Travel-Agent-Issues/Liberty-Travel-pursues-independent-contractors-with-new-host-agency in February. The agency is hosting nearly 250 agents today.
