CNN chief Washington correspondent Jake Tapper will be the
keynote speaker at this year's ASTA Global Convention.
The convention will take
place from Aug. 21-23 at the Washington Hilton in Washington, D.C. Tapper's
keynote and audience question-and-answer session will take place on Thursday,
Aug. 23.
Tapper, anchor of "The Lead with Jake Tapper" and
host of "State of the Union," will discuss current affairs and his
new book, "The Hellfire Club."
"Tapper's presence comes at a pivotal time, when travel
and politics regularly converge in the headlines," ASTA said in a
statement. "The ASTA travel advisor community, bound by its own longstanding
code of ethics, has the opportunity to be stewards of important information to
their clients, similar to a journalist's code of ethics."
