Tablet Hotels, a curated collection of luxury and boutique
hotels, has launched Tablet Pro, a program enabling travel agents to book its
inventory.
Independent agents pay a $500 annual fee to access the booking engine and earn 7% commission. Larger-volume agencies and hosts are asked to contact Tablet Hotels.
Tablet says its collection includes more than 3,500 hotels worldwide.
It offers discounts and amenities like upgrades and breakfast at more than
1,400 of those properties. Amenities are valued at an average of $200 per stay.
Its properties include hotels from Firmdale Hotels, the
Bunkhouse Group, SBE Hospitality, Two Roads Hospitality and hundreds of
independent hotels.
Tablet Pro said it has a "straightforward" booking
platform for agents with direct connections to hotels with non-GDS rates, and
exclusive discounts at over 150 hotels each week. It also has a dedicated agent
customer service team and collects commissions for agents.
Tablet CEO and co-founder Laurent Vernhes said more than
1,000 of Tablet's properties are not included in the collections of major
consortia.
"In short, Pro is a supplement that is bound to become
indispensable for those catering to sophisticated travelers," Vernhes
said.
