A former employee's lawsuit against Travel Leaders Group
(TLG) alleging sexual harassment and wrongful termination has been dismissed.
"The parties resolved all of the claims brought by
former TLG employee Mabelle 'Mai' Meyaart," Travel Leaders said in a
statement. "The pending case was dismissed without any finding of
wrongdoing by Travel Leaders Group or its employees. The parties have no
further comment."
According to court documents filed Thursday, the lawsuit was
dismissed with prejudice, meaning it has been dismissed permanently and the
plaintiff cannot file another lawsuit based on the same claims.
Meyaart's lawsuit, filed in February 2018 in U.S. District Court, Southern District of Florida, named Travel Leaders
Group CEO Ninan Chacko and Travel Leaders Network and Leisure Group president
John Lovell as defendants.
It accused Lovell of sexually harassing Meyaart, and alleged
she was unfairly passed over for promotions. Meyaart claimed she was "ultimately
wrongfully terminated without cause."
The lawsuit also alleged that the culture at Travel Leaders
was "toxic, male-dominated, good 'ole boy, misogynistic, and
dysfunctional."
Meyaart worked for the company from June 2012 until July
2017. She had been brought in to create Travel Leaders' hotel division.
A court document filed Thursday said each party will bear
its own attorney fees and costs.
