A new AAA survey indicates that travel agents have a bright future, finding that 75% of Americans would consider working with an agent.

And young travelers are on board. AAA said millennials were just as likely to say they planned on using an agent in the next year as baby boomers were.

Travelers' top reasons for using an agent were "to ensure a smooth experience on more complicated and expensive trips, and for recommendations and help arranging special activities and experiences."

Just shy of half of respondents (46%) said working with an agent helps bring value to a vacation.

Americans traveling internationally appear to be more likely to use an agent. According to AAA's survey, 49% said they would consider working with an agent for an international trip, while just 22% said they would consider working with an agent for a domestic trip.

The survey was conducted by landline and cell phones from Aug. 23-26. In total, 1,002 adults in the U.S. were surveyed.
