Uber for Business has forged alliances with four travel
management companies. Those alliances could grow to encompass data integration
for reporting, Uber said.
Corporate Travel Management (No. 11 on Travel Weekly's 2017 Power List), Direct Travel (No. 15),
Vision Travel Solutions (No. 24) and Casto Travel will recommend that clients adopt Uber for Business,
said Michael Goodwin head of business development for Uber for Business.
"TMCs traditionally have not been able to advise on
on-demand ground transportation; it's kind of been a black hole in their
business," he said.
Incorporation of Uber usage data into the TMCs' reporting
and billing is not part of the initial partnership but could emerge this year
as the partnerships deepen, Goodwin said. Uber is talking with several other
TMCs to join the pilot, he added.
