American Express Global Business Travel and Carlson Wagonlit
Travel have joined Amadeus' NDC-X program, which aims to drive practical use
cases for IATA's New Distribution Capability (NDC).
The NDC-X initiative, which draws experts from across
Amadeus' businesses, was announced in February.
"Partnering with the GDS is the fastest way to realize
the potential of NDC, delivering enhanced choice for our corporate traveler
customers and transforming the traveler experience," said Vince Chirico,
Carlson Wagonlit's senior vice president of global network and technology
partners.
Amadeus said American Express GBT will join its NDC-X
program and help pilot the GDS's new NDC-enabled solution, giving GBT access to
NDC content.
"By working with Amadeus, we already have access to a
broad array of travel content," said Michael Qualantone, GBT's executive
vice president of global supplier relations. "Now with NDC, we can offer
even more to our clients."
CWT and GBT join several other industry partners in the
NDC-X program, including Flight Centre Travel Group.
Amadeus' announcement comes on the heels of a similar one
from Sabre
that American Airlines, Carlson Wagonlit, GBT and Flight Centre Travel Group
will be launch partners in Beyond NDC, Sabre's initiative to develop, test and
integrate technology to process NDC offers and orders.
