NASSAU, Bahamas -- AmaWaterways has named Ensemble Travel
Group co-president Libbie Rice godmother of the AmaMora, one of three new ships
joining the fleet next year.
Rice announced the appointment during Ensemble's conference
here at the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar, noting that she was thrilled to be a
first-time godmother.
She will christen the 156-passenger ship at a July
15 ceremony in Lahnstein, Germany, where she will be joined by AmaWaterways'
executive team and local dignitaries.
Rice has served as Ensemble co-president since 2011.
The sister ship to AmaWaterways' AmaLea, the AmaMora will
kick off her inaugural season on June 3, sailing a seven-night Rhine River
itinerary between Basel and Amsterdam. The ship has 78 staterooms, most of
which have the brand's signature twin balconies.
The AmaMora will serve regionally inspired dishes and wine
at its Main Restaurant and Chef's Table Restaurant, as well as a selection of
tapas, afternoon tea options, a daily Sip & Sail cocktail hour and a
24-hour coffee station. Other amenities available onboard will include wellness
activities and a fitness center, a pool with swim-up bar and massage and salon
services, among others. The ship will also feature an extensive menu of up to
20 complimentary tours, including a unique Lahneck Castle visit by candlelight
in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany.
In addition to the AmaMora, AmaWaterways will launch the
AmaDouro and AmaMagna next year.
