Turkish Airlines is offering laptops for use free of charge to business-class travelers on direct U.S.- and U.K.-bound flights. The offer is in response to the recent ban by the U.S. of all electronic devices larger than a mobile phone on direct flights to the States from 10 airports in seven Middle Eastern countries and Turkey and by Britain's subsequent ban on inbound flights from five countries in the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey.

Large electronic devices are only able to be transported in checked luggage.

Passengers are now able to request a laptop from the cabin crew to use while in flight. The carrier also offers free WiFi on U.S.-bound flights.

Etihad, Emirates and Qatar Airways have all extended similar offers since the electronics ban went into effect.
