Trainline, a European train and bus app, and Atout France launched a partnership to promote French rail travel to American visitors.

The U.S. office of Atout France and Trainline kicked off two online marketing campaigns Aug. 2 to promote train access to such Cote d'Azur destinations as Nice, Cannes, Antibes and Saint-Raphael, as well as to cities in Nouvelle Aquitaine and the Cognac region.

These regions are rated among the most popular by users of Trainline, as shown by one of their recent studies on the top 10 French destinations for international tourists this summer.

Avignon, Nice, and Bordeaux claim the top places in the ranking, with American travelers representing the largest segment of booked tickets to Avignon.

"This partnership aligns with our desire to support the French Government's policy to develop sustainable tourism," said Audrey Detrie, France and Benelux director of Trainline. "Together, we will highlight the simplicity of traveling by train in France for international travelers to the Cote d'Azur France and Nouvelle Aquitaine regions."
