Lake Geneva is poised to be the site of flying taxis, also known as SeaBubbles, which are scheduled to begin operations in 2018.
The vessels, powered by hydrofoils and solar energy, will be able to transport up to four passengers and will link Geneva to neighboring towns.
SeaBubbles float two feet above the water and can reach speeds up to 18.5 miles per hour. A video, above, posted to the SeaBubbles Instagram account, shows the technology at work in the South of France.
The vehicles would represent the world's first flying-taxi service integrated with local transportation.
Product creator Alain Thebault is looking to expand SeaBubbles operations to other destinations, including New York City, Tokyo and Bangkok.
