Mama Shelter, a collection of boutique hotels, opened its seventh property March 8 in Belgrade, Serbia. The 125-room Mama Shelter Belgrade is located on Ulica Kneza Mihaila, also known as Prince Michael Street, the pedestrian thoroughfare in the Serbian capital.

Designed by architect Amor Jalil, the hotel features design elements from the city's Ottoman history, including kilim rugs, vintage prints and furniture inspired by the Eastern Bloc aesthetic.  Amenities include high-speed WiFi, a 5,000-square-foot terrace with foosball and ping-pong tables and views of the White City's ancient citadels and concrete towers.

Mama Shelter's portfolio also includes hotels in Paris, Marseille, Lyon and Bordeaux, France, as well as Los Angeles and Rio de Janeiro. Properties in Prague; Toulouse, France; Lisbon; Dubai; and London also are in the works.
In 2014 Accor bought a 35% stake in Mama Shelter, which was launched in 2008 by Serge Trigano, a co-founder of Club Med, and his sons Benjamin and Jeremie.

Rates are about $122 per room.
