Corinthia Hotel Lisbon unveiled the first phase of a $17.6 million renovation. The redo touched all of the property's deluxe guestrooms and deluxe junior suites and included the launch of a new on-property restaurant, Erva, which focuses on Portuguese cuisine and is overseen by by chef Carlos Goncalves.

"[This] renovation takes us into the future with a more residential feel to the rooms, softer tones and state-of-the-art technology," said Corinthia Hotel Lisbon general manager Roderick Micallef.

The designs, created by London-based interior designer Goddard Littlefair, feature custom furniture from local Portuguese cabinetmakers, marble bathrooms, tropical rain showers and toiletries from ESPA, as well as original art by local photographer Nuno Cera and painter Susana Bravo.

Phase two of the refurbishment will begin before the end of the year and will include a redo of the Executive Suites. By the end of 2019 all 518 rooms of Corinthia Hotel Lisbon will have been redone.
