Munich Airport is marking the season with its 19th annual Christmas and Winter Market, located at the Forum in the Munich Airport Center, a large, covered space between terminals.
The market, which features 450 real Christmas trees, comprises more than 40 stands selling seasonal culinary specialties and local handicrafts.
The centerpiece of the market is the nearly 2,000-square-foot ice rink, offering complimentary rentals for skating and for trying your hand at eisstockschiessen, Bavaria's broom-free version of curling. DJs provide music at the rink on Thursday evenings, and there are live musical performances every evening except Mondays, covering everything from jazz, swing and gospel to rock and pop.
On Wednesdays starting at 4 p.m., the market will offer family-oriented fairytale performances and magic shows for children.
The Christmas and Winter Market is open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. through Dec. 30.
