Austrian Airlines will debut year-round Montreal-Vienna service April 29, via Boeing 767 aircraft.
Service will operate daily throughout the summer schedule and five times a week during the winter season.
The Lufthansa Group now offers international routes from all three of its passenger airlines: Austrian, Lufthansa and Swiss.
Lufthansa currently offers daily service from Montreal to Frankfurt and Munich, and Swiss flies daily from Montreal to Zurich.
In addition, Star Alliance partner airline Air Canada will begin year-round, nonstop service between Toronto and Vienna on April 29 aboard the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. The flights will operate five times weekly during the winter season and daily throughout the summer season.
The flight connection between Vienna and Toronto will be bookable as a codeshare flight via Austrian Airlines.
In other Lufthansa Group news, Lufthansa is launching a direct flight from Austin, Texas, to Frankfurt on May 3.
The service, which will operate five times a week, represents the German carrier's third gateway in Texas, which also includes daily service from Dallas and Houston, respectively, to Lufthansa's Frankfurt hub.
Lufthansa will operate the Airbus A330-300 in a three-class cabin configuration on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
