The Burgenstock Hotels & Resort Lake Lucerne opened its Alpine Spa on Nov. 6.
The 107,000-square-foot, three-level facility features a 1,383-foot-long heated outdoor infinity pool, a 69-foot indoor pool with panoramic views and a kidney-shaped Hollywood Pool adjacent to the Spa Garden. The spa also offers 13 treatment rooms; three private spa suites; a wet area with hammam, sauna, whirlpools and hydrotherapy; a 24-hour fitness center; and a 2,000-square-foot Kids Club.
Design elements include Italian Luserna stone, brass and glass walls; floor-to-ceiling windows in the Relaxation Room, complete with waterbeds and sofas in front of an open fire; and a Spa Lounge, which offers private and meetings space overlooking the lake. Spa-goers can also take advantage of hot and cold Kneipp baths, an Alpine Rasul bath, a saline bath and two infrared cabins and nap areas.
There also are a co-ed, clothing-free spa zone for guests age 16 and older and a clothing-free Ladies' Spa. Both have cold and warm water pools, Jacuzzis, herbal steam baths, rock showers, aroma saunas and relaxation rooms.
Spa treatments use natural products made of indigenous plants and alpine herbs and feature products from Susanne Kaufmann and La Prairie as well as the family-owned Ligne St. Barth.
The Burgenstock Outdoors activity center can organize hiking, biking, climbing, rafting, canoeing, rowing, waterskiing, sailing, fishing, horseback riding, archery, hot-air ballooning and paragliding as well as curling and ice skating in winter.
