Universal Orlando Resort has launched an in-park food ordering service.

Accessed via the Universal Orlando Resort App, the Mobile Express Pick Up platform allows guests to order food and drink on their iPhone and Android mobile devices.

The service will help guests save time, eliminating long waits at food venues and allowing users to place orders while they wait in line for ride attractions, Universal said. Guests can opt to delay preparation of their order to ensure food is freshly made upon pick-up.

Mobile Express Pick Up is available at select dining outlets at Universal Studios Florida and Universal's Islands of Adventure, including Mel's Drive-In, Richter's Burger Co. and The Burger Digs, among others. The service cannot be used in tandem with discounts, gift cards or the Universal Dining Plan.

Disney World began rolling out mobile ordering at its theme parks last year, and the option is now available at several counter-service restaurants.
