A Margaritaville resort, based on the beachy lodging concept
from the Jimmy Buffett song of the same name, is slated to open near New York
City’s Times Square in late 2020.
The $300 million, 29-story project will have 234 guestrooms
as well as a St. Somewhere-branded spa offering guests New York skyline views.
The hotel will also have a Margaritaville Restaurant, a 5 o’Clock Somewhere Bar
and a rooftop LandShark Bar & Grill.
The hotel will be constructed on the corner of Seventh Avenue and 40th Street. The property had been considered for a Dream hotel, real estate site The Real
Deal reported last November.
Margaritaville executives had been in talks to redevelop the
Brill Building on Broadway, according to The Real Deal.
Margaritaville has nine resorts worldwide as well as two
vacation clubs and one residential property, though none north of Tennessee.
The company also has 32 restaurants.
