The hotel in the $1 billion Nashville Yards development will
be a luxury property, branded as a Grand Hyatt. The hotel had been slated to be
a Hyatt Regency, an upper-upscale brand.
The downtown hotel is slated to open in late summer or early
fall 2020.
The Nashville Yards development will also include office,
retail, residential and entertainment spaces. Amazon will be a corporate
anchor, as the online retail giant last week agreed to open an operations
center in Nashville Yards, bringing up to 5,000 jobs to the city.
Development of the 16-acre project is being led by San
Diego-based Southwest Value Partners.
The 591-room Grand Hyatt at Nashville Yards will span 24
stories and is expected to become the third-largest hotel in downtown Nashville,
after the Omni and Renaissance hotels. The property will house various food and
beverage outlets, a rooftop lounge and pool, a spa and 60,000 square feet of
meeting and event space.
The Nashville hotel will be one of just a dozen Grand Hyatt
hotels in the U.S.
