The Virgin Group and Virgin Atlantic's 49% owner Delta Air Lines will launch a Virgin-wide loyalty program in 2019.
The creation of the new corporate entity, to be called Virgin Group Loyalty Company, won't mean the end of Virgin Atlantic's awards program Flying Club, however.
Flying Club members will continue to earn points across the program's three membership tiers, Virgin said. They can earn and spend miles across Virgin Atlantic, Delta and a range of airline and other partners as they do today. But the new program will offer Flying Club members the chance to earn and spend reward miles across a broader range of Virgin brand products and services.
"We're excited to work collaboratively with Virgin Group to build a stronger loyalty program and unleash the power of our shared brand to reward customers for their loyalty to Virgin," Oil Byers, Virgin Atlantic's senior vice president of global sales and customer loyalty, said in a prepared statement.
In addition to Virgin Atlantic, among the many Virgin Group entities are Virgin Hotels, Virgin Vacations, Virgin Casino, Virgin Wines, and soon, the cruise line, Virgin Voyages.
