United will begin year-round daily service between San Francisco and Amsterdam on March 30.

The route, to be flown in a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, will be United's fifth to the Netherlands capital, joining flights from its hubs at Newark, Washington Dulles, Chicago O'Hare and Houston Bush Intercontinental.

United will compete against twice-daily KLM service on the route. KLM operates San Francisco-Amsterdam as part of its joint venture with Delta.

Delta also will start seasonal service next summer between Newark and Naples, Italy, making it the lone carrier to fly from the U.S. to Naples.

United will operate the daily route between May 22 and Oct. 4 using a Boeing 767-300 aircraft.

In addition, United will launch seasonal Newark-Prague service next summer. The daily route begins on June 6 and ends on Oct. 4. United will operate the service in a Boeing 767-300, competing with seasonal Delta service to Prague from New York Kennedy.
