United Airlines parent United Continental Holdings will
transfer from the New York Stock Exchange to the on Sept. 7.
United will keep its ticker symbol of UAL.
United CFO Gerry Laderman said that Nasdaq's "highly
respected trading platform and marketing initiatives offer the most
cost-effective listing alternative and support our work to deliver on our cost
targets."
PepsiCo cited similar reasons when it moved from the NYSE to
Nasdaq late last year, making it the most valuable company on the Nasdaq
exchange.
United stock has performed well of late and is up
approximately 23% in 2018. The stock was trading at more than $85 Monday
afternoon, just shy of its 52-week high of $86.60.
