Singapore Airlines will make Seattle its sixth U.S. gateway next September.

The Southeast Asian carrier, which is renowned for its upscale service, will fly nonstop between Singapore and Seattle three times per week beginning Sept. 3 and then four times per week beginning the following month.

Singapore will fly a three-class Airbus A350-900.

The route announcement comes on the heels of the carrier's launch last month of nonstop Newark-Singapore service, which is the world's longest route. Singapore begins Los Angeles-Singapore service this Friday.

Singapore also flies nonstop to San Francisco and one-stop to Houston and New York JFK.
