Low-cost transatlantic carrier Norwegian Air will enter the
Canadian market this fall and next spring with flights to the Caribbean and
Ireland.
Norwegian's first flights from Canada will service the
French Caribbean. Winter seasonal service between Montreal and Guadeloupe
starts Oct. 29 and will operate three times per week. Seasonal service between
Montreal and Martinique begins Nov. 1 and will also be thrice weekly.
Norwegian will begin transatlantic service from Canada on
March 31 with a year-round, daily route to Dublin from Hamilton, Ontario, which is
located approximately halfway between Toronto and Niagara Falls.
Dublin will be the first European destination for Hamilton's
airport.
Norwegian's entry in the U.S.-Europe market five years ago
spearheaded a new era of low-cost service over the Atlantic.
This summer the carrier is flying approximately 60 routes to
14 U.S. destinations.
