Frontier Airlines has renamed its frequent flyer program and
created two new levels of elite status.
The discount carrier is now calling its loyalty program
Frontier Miles, a change from its previous name of Early Returns.
The program now has three levels with Elite 50k status and
Elite 100k status having been added to the Elite 20k status that Frontier
offered prior to implementing the changes this week. Frontier customers earn
one status mile for each mile they fly over the course of a year. Miles can
also be obtained through purchases made with the Frontier Airlines Mastercard,
which the airline relaunched this week along with an offer for a 40,000-mile
signup bonus. The card costs $79 and the bonus is awarded after users spend
$500.
At the 20k status level, Frontier Miles members get free
carry-ons and advanced seat assignments. Those perks are the same as the ones
Frontier offered under Early Returns.
Those who obtain 50k status will get Frontier's extra
legroom seats for their entire family. Those front-of-the plane seats also
recline, unlike most seats on Frontier aircraft.
At the 100k level, Frontier flyers will get the airline's
bundled package, known as The Works, for the entire family. The Works provides
flyers with free carry-ons, free checked bags, advanced seat assignments,
upgraded seats and ticket changeability and refundability.
The airline allows up to eight members of a family to pool
their miles for an award.
As part of the loyalty program's rebranding, Frontier will
award 20k elite status through the end of the year to flyers who book who book
and complete travel on two roundtrip itineraries by Oct. 15.
