Swoop, the ultralow-cost subsidiary of Canada's WestJet,
will begin flying to the U.S. in October with eight winter seasonal routes.
The carrier, which launched operations on June 20, will
initially serve five U.S destinations.
Flights connecting Las Vegas with Edmonton, Alberta;
Hamilton, Ontario; and Abbotsford, British Columbia, begin Oct. 11. Hamilton is
approximately a 45-minute drive from Toronto and Abbotsford is approximately an
hour from Vancouver.
Flights connecting Hamilton to Phoenix-Mesa, Fort
Lauderdale, Orlando and Tampa will launch between Oct. 17 and Oct. 27.
Most of those flights will operate between twice and four
times per week. Swoop will operate Las Vegas-Edmonton 11 times weekly.
The routes are available for booking through April 27.
Swoop flies 189-seat, single-class Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
