The Airbus board of directors has chosen Guillaume Faury, the company's current president of the commercial aircraft division, to succeed retiring CEO Tom Enders. The selection was unanimous.

Faury, 50, will take over the post on April 10, when the Airbus board holds its annual general meeting.

Faury has worked for Airbus since 2013, first as CEO of Airbus Helicopters, and then beginning early this year as head of the commercial aircraft unit.

Enders announced his plan to retire last December.
