Responding to the recent demand for solo travel, luxury Maldivian ecoresort Gili Lankanfushi is introducing a package for people traveling alone. Launching on Jan. 9 and eschewing the traditional single supplement, the package will offer those in search of a solo travel experience a 25% discount on room rate as an introductory offer.
Solo travelers will receive a journal for self-reflection and thought exploration on arrival at their villa. The solo travel package will also offer travelers a range of holistic therapies, including meditation, reiki, crystal and ancient singing bowl sessions at Gili Lankanfushi's overwater Meera Spa as well as a stress-alleviating 120-minute massage, encouraging guests to unwind and switch off.
A range of expert-led experiences will include a traditional Maldivian cooking class, a photography instruction and a snorkeling excursion with a marine biologist.
Traditionally considered a romantic destination for honeymooners and couples, Gili Lankanfushi will offer solo travelers the opportunity to meet new friends and share experiences with like-minded travelers through a range of group activities, including sunrise yoga in the outdoor yogashala, ocean-based excursions and a weekly group supper club at the island's underground wine cellar.
The Solo Travel Package at Gili Lankanfushi starts at $4,204 per person for four nights and includes the journal, daily breakfast, speedboat transfers, 120-minute massage combined with Gili cuisine and spa juices, a photography session, wine cellar supper club or Dine in the Dark dinner experience, sunset sailing, snorkeling excursion, choice of a Maldivian cooking class experience or a Make your own BBQ cooking class at One Palm Island and an 11% discount on items from the Gili boutique.
