Hacienda Petac, an estate 30 minutes from Merida in Mexico's Yucatan state, is now offering curated culinary group tours. The estate has always been a prime spot for foodies, with hands-on cooking and excursions to nearby markets. But lately chefs and cooking tours have been using the hacienda as a home base for deeper culinary exploration of southern Mexico

In a curated week of cooking classes and excursions, guests explore the cuisine of the Yucatan, and the culture of the region, like visiting the Mayan ruins at Uxmal or swimming in cenotes. Guests also have time to spend at the market in Merida to shop for ingredients.

If travelers would like to put their own small groups together, the Hacienda offers package suggestions that work under an all-inclusive model, offering cooking classes, drink demonstrations, market tours and tours.

Tour de Fork's culinary immersion experience features Michelin-starred chef Anita Lo. This trip, Cooking in the Yucatan, coincides over Day of the Dead, but will have a future trip in February.

Edible Destinations offers hands-on Yucatan cooking with a Mayan staff. These tours run throughout the year.
