Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa has launched a new promotion and fundraising campaign tied to breast cancer awareness and treatment.
On June 23, National Pink Day, the resort started its "Cabanas for a Cure" program to run through October 31. Two oceanside cabanas have been redone with pink elements and the "Pink Ocean Hale" package includes two complimentary cocktails, and a portion of the proceeds go to Susan G. Komen Hawaii. The package costs $285 plus tax.
Additionally, during the week of June 23 to 30, a portion of the proceeds from the resort's restaurants and spa will be donated to Susan G. Komen Hawaii.
The summer of fundraising leads up to the fifth annual Maui Paddle for a Cure on October 13, during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The fun, non-competitive benefit race invites participants to stand-up paddleboard, canoe or kayak the course, and the race is followed by a party at Hyatt regency Maui's Sunset Terrace.
"The annual Maui Paddle for a Cure is very special to us. With the support of the community and our guests, it has raised more than $115,000 for Susan G. Komen Hawaii to date," Fred Findlen, general manager at Hyatt Regency Maui, said in a statement. "This year, we aim to encourage more people than ever before to join us in the fight against breast cancer through the addition of Cabanas for a Cure to our other fundraising efforts."
