Seydisfjordur, Iceland, a fishing town (herring, mainly) on the country's east coast, has 19th-century wooden houses and an impressive coastline. Located 250 mi/400 km east of Reykjavik, it's regarded as one of Iceland's most picturesque towns and is generally seen as a one-night stopover while driving around the island. Seydisfjordur is also the port city for the Norrona passenger ferry, which travels to the Faroe Islands, the Shetland Islands, Denmark and Norway.
