Hurtigruten's fleet of hybrid expedition ships will grow to
three by 2021.
The line reached a memorandum of understanding with the
Kleven shipyard in Norway for one more ship. The yard already is
building two 530-passenger ships that will be able to cruise for limited periods
with electric battery propulsion.
The ships, the Roald Amundsen and Fridtjof Nansen, are
scheduled for completion next year.
The Hurtigruten-Kleven agreement for the third ship is subject to certain
contingencies.
