Holland America Line said 20,000 travel agents have completed
training in its academy. Robin Dworkin, owner of GAP Travel in Levittown, N.Y.,
was the 20,000th agent.
HAL academy offers courses using video instruction, reading
and quiz interaction to agents interested in mastering sales strategies. Agents
also learn features of HAL ships and itineraries.
The full program includes four core training sessions: "The
Holland America Line Difference," "Destinations and Itinerary
Planning," "Selling Groups" and "Secrets of Sales Success."
Started in 2002, the academy began as a workbook sent to
agents in the United States and Canada and later transitioned into an
interactive online format.
