Royal Caribbean International said the Ultimate Family Suite
on its upcoming Spectrum of the Seas will have a bathroom that is cantilevered
over the side of the ship.
Royal Caribbean released a rendering of the bathroom, along
with other features of the Quantum Plus-class ship, which will debut in Shanghai in
June 2019.
The duplex Ultimate Family Suite was introduced on the
Symphony of the Seas this year at 1,346 square feet. It sleeps a maximum of
eight guests.
On the Spectrum, the suite will expand to 2,809 square feet
and accommodate 11 guests. It will have three bedrooms, including a master with a bathroom that extends over the side of the ship.
The rendering of the bathroom shows five floor-to-ceiling
windows with pull down shades. There is a large saucer-shaped tub, dual sinks
and a contemporary, curvy lounger. A shower area with a rain shower and a
second sculptural shower element is separated from the rest of the bath area by
a decorative panel.
The Spectrum will also be the first Royal Caribbean
ship to have a private enclave of suites on the forward parts of Decks 13
through 16. Guests will have keycard
access, a private elevator and a dedicated restaurant and lounge. They will
also have access to the Balcony -- a private outdoor space for sunbathing and
relaxing -- and the Boutique, a shopping area where travelers can book private
shopping experiences.
Royal Caribbean says the 4,246-passenger Spectrum will be the largest ship sailing in Asia.
