Carnival Cruise Line will motor to California for a series
of Agentpalooza travel partner appreciation events in June.
Agentpalooza simulates a musical bus tour with agents as "rock
stars." Carnival's sales team shows up to rally agents, who can be made up
and don rock star costumes for photos to be posted on social media.
Last spring, Carnival senior vice president of sales and
trade marketing Adolfo Perez had "Travel Agents Rock" tattooed on his
arm at the Agentpalooza stop in New Orleans.
Carnival said each tour stop includes five different areas
featuring specific entertainment and sales and marketing activities. A main
stage will feature new marketing and product experiences.
New this year is a T-shirt design contest that launches
April 12. Agents may submit a rock 'n' roll-inspired design to the line through
April 25, 2018.
A Carnival judging panel comprised of Perez, Carnival president
Christine Duffy and Carnival vice president of North American sales Mike Julius
will select a final design to be featured on the official 2018 Agentpalooza
T-shirt. The winner will receive a seven-day Carnival Caribbean cruise. Five
runners-up will get $100 gift cards. The T-shirts will be sold at each event,
with profits going to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Carnival said it picked Southern California for the 2018
tour to build support for the new Carnival Panorama, which will be based in
Long Beach starting in late 2019.
The June 11-14 tour includes stops on June 11 at the Rose
Bowl in Pasadena, June 12 at Mile Square Park in Orange County, June 13 at
Chula Vista Bayside Park in San Diego and June 14 at Carnival's newly expanded
terminal in Long Beach.
