Apple Leisure Group will sunset the Mark Travel name at the
end of the year, but Mark Travel's brands will remain, ALG said in an email to
industry partners.
ALG and Mark Travel Corporation completed their merger in
May.
"The sunsetting of The Mark Travel Corporation will
have no impact on how the brands will be managed and operated. Funjet
Vacations, Southwest Vacations, United Vacations and Blue Sky Tours will each
have dedicated leadership and support teams," said Jacqueline Marks, ALG
Vacations' executive vice president of trade sales and engagement.
ALG's agent loyalty programs (Mark Travel's 500 Club, Travel
Impressions' Best of the Best and Apple Vacations' Golden Apple) will continue
to operate independently through summer 2019. ALG is working toward a common
loyalty platform that will enable agents to combine rewards from all ALG
brands.
Apple Vacations and Travel Impressions will transition to Mark Travel's Vax VacationAccess booking platform, with Travel Impressions expected
to be on Vax by the end of September and Apple Vacations by the end of November,
for travel beginning May 1, 2019.
Vax allows agents to do more on their own, including the
addition of optional tours and name changes, Marks said.
