The Hyatt Regency Seattle opened in the city's downtown on
Monday. The 1,260-rooom hotel is Seattle's largest, edging out the 1,236-room
Sheraton Grand Seattle.
The hotel is two blocks from the Washington State Convention
Center and adjacent to The Summit, an expansion of the convention center slated
to open in spring 2022. The Hyatt Regency itself has 103,000 square feet of meeting
and event space.
"With the opening of the largest hotel in the Pacific
Northwest, Seattle will finally have the meeting space options it needs,"
said Hyatt Regency Seattle general manager Tom Wolf.
Meeting and event spaces are named after bodies of water in
Washington state, such as the Columbia, Elwha and Quinault ballrooms. The hotel's
46 meeting rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows.
The hotel has three dining options: casual Italian trattoria
Andare, the Daniel's Broiler steakhouse and the grab-and-go Market.
