SAO PAULO, Brazil -- Hyatt Hotels announced the opening of
two hotels in South America under its luxury lifestyle brand, Hyatt Centric.
Hyatt said the 166-room Hyatt Centric Las Condes Santiago opened
Wednesday, while the 254-room Hyatt Centric San Isidro Lima opened on May
7.
The openings mark the brand's entry into Chile and Peru.
Hyatt Centric Las Condes Santiago is the second Hyatt hotel
in Chile, joining Hyatt Place Santiago/Vitacura, while Hyatt Centric San Isidro
Lima is the first Hyatt hotel to open in Peru. George Vizer, senior vice
president of Hyatt franchise operations for the Americas, said the Centric
brand puts "guests at the center of the action and encourages exploration
and discovery in two of the main gateway cities in South America."
Hyatt made the announcement at the opening of ILTM Latin
America, which brought together 360 exhibitors from 65 countries with 370
travel agents from 12 Latin American countries for 14,500 scheduled
appointments over three days.
