Marriott International said the company will reimburse guests who get a new passport because their passport number was hacked, if they can show that fraud has occurred.

Last week, Marriott disclosed that a data breach affected 500 million guests. The hack exposed customer passport numbers, names, mailing addresses, phone numbers, payment card numbers and other personal information.

According to a Marriott spokesperson, the company is "setting up a process" to work with guests. If Marriott confirms "that fraud has taken place, then the company will reimburse guests for the costs associated with getting a new passport."

The fee for an adult U.S. passport renewal is $110.

On Sunday, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), pressured Marriott to pay for new passports for consumers affected by the breach. He warned that "the clock is ticking to minimize the risk customers face."
