Norwegian Air's new Argentina affiliate will begin domestic
routes from Buenos Aires in October.
Tickets went on sale Thursday for flights between Buenos
Aires and Cordoba, Mendoza, Iguazu, Bariloche, Neuquen and Salta.
Norwegian Air Argentina will begin service on Oct. 16 with
daily flights on the Cordoba and Mendoza routes. Launch dates for the other
four destinations range from Nov. 19 through Jan. 7.
The discount carrier will base itself at Buenos Aires'
second airport, Aeroparque Jorge Newbery, rather than the larger Ezeiza
International Airport.
Flights will be operated with Boeing 737-800s. Through Sept.
17, Norwegian is offering introductory roundtrip fares for as low as $19 (checked
bags, seat selection and food and beverage cost extra).
Norwegian said the initial routes of its Argentina affiliate
will be of interest to tourists from within Argentina and from abroad.
"The first routes are all-year destinations and are
excellent choices for the traveler who seeks to find the best choices for a
wine tour trip (Mendoza and Salta), skiing or outdoor sports activities
(Mendoza, Neuqueen, Bariloche), or enjoying the Argentine waterfalls (Iguazuu),
including business and vibrant cities like Buenos Aires and Coordoba, the
biggest and most popular in the country," Norwegian Air said.
