The 432-room Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort has completed an overhaul of all guestrooms and the addition of an on-site restaurant, Lona Cocina Tequileria. The hotel is a 10-minute drive from both the Fort Lauderdale Airport and the Port Everglades cruise terminal.
The guestrooms are now outfitted in modern decor in shades of blue inspired by the hues of the nearby Atlantic Ocean. Rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows as well as upgraded lighting and furniture, new bedding and updated flooring. Six of the guestrooms now also feature high-tech Peloton stationary cycling bikes. Rates start at $199 per night.
Lona Cocina Tequileria is helmed by chef Pablo Salas and features eclectic Mexican cuisine with a large patio overlooking the ocean. The restaurant was recently named the Best Restaurant in Fort Lauderdale by the Miami New Times.
Cruise passengers on their way out to or back from the ship can purchase a day pass to the hotel's pool, fitness center, beachfront and spa to freshen up before embarking on their cruise or flying out later in the day.
