Grandparents and grandkids can reconnect at Grand Velas Riviera Maya with new experiences designed for this "skip-gen" relationship.

The experiences, one to Chichen Itza and the other to Uxmal and the colonial city of Merida, include transportation in private plane from the resort. Explore the famous Mayan ruins on a private tour, with lunch and swimming in a cenote.

As a second option, grandparents can take the grandkids to Merida and the ruins of Uxmal. A private guide will show guests around the Unesco World Heritage Site. Afterward, lunch in Merida is followed by a carriage ride down the Paseo de Montejo.

The three-night Insider Microadventure to Chichen Itza starts at $1,368 per adult per night, $567 per child ages 4 to 12 and $647 per child ages 13 to 15. The Insider Microadventure for Uxmal & Merida begins at $1,562 per adult per night, $664 per child ages 4 to 12 per night and $774 per child ages 13 to 15.
