Starwood Hotels & Resorts Hawaii created the Keith Vieira Ho‘owaiwai a Ho‘ona‘auao Endowed Scholarship to honor Vieira, who will retire at year’s end following a 36-year career in the tourism industry, 33 of them with Starwood. The scholarship will be awarded to a Hawaii high school graduate who goes on to pursue a degree at the Shidler College of Business at the University of Hawaii, Vieira’s alma mater. Joining Vieira at the announcement was Donna Vuchinich, president and CEO at the University of Hawaii Foundation.

Maria Saenz of Montrose Travel recently visited the Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Dubai, the largest mosque in the United Arab Emirates. Saenz was in Dubai to attend a four-day ASTA International Destination Expo, where she gained first-hand experiences to help her expand her knowledge as a Dubai Destination Specialist.

The Who is the subject of the latest Viva Vision light-and-sound show at the Fremont Street Experience; “The Who – Miles Over Vegas,” will be built around three of the band’s biggest hit songs, “My Generation,” “I Can See for Miles” and “Pinball Wizard.”

A collection of Haitian handicrafts is on display at Miami Airport's South Terminal Gallery through December. The nine artists featured in the exhibit are part of the Urban Zen Haiti Artisan Project; they use discarded materials and incorporate found objects to create their crafts. The "Haiti: Leaving a Legacy" exhibit is a collaboration between Miami-Dade Fine Arts & Cultural Affairs Division, the Haitian Cultural Arts Alliance and fashion designer Donna Karan.
