Surprises on Grand Bahama Island
A recent visit to Grand Bahama Island by Caribbean Editor Gay Nagle Myers yielded a lot of surprises and plenty of reasons to visit, either as a cruise passenger on a stopover or as a land-based vacationer. Pictured here, Count Basie Square, the centerpiece of Port Lucaya Marketplace, is named in honor of the American jazz pianist who owned a home on the island. The house, when seen from the air, is shaped like a grand piano. Posted Dec. 15, 2011
