Skiing in South Tyrol, Italy
Senior Editor Robert Silk traveled recently to South Tyrol in the Italian Alps. Formerly part of Austria, the 2,900-square-mile region is Italy's northernmost province but is still predominantly German speaking. The region is dotted with charming towns, highly rated hotels, remote mountaintop retreats and Michelin-starred restaurants. It's greatest draw, however, is its enormous abundance of ski areas, which sit in the shadows of the distinctive rock faces of the Dolomites. Photo Credit: TW photo by Robert Silk
