New to the Carnival fleet on the Carnival Horizon is the Bonsai Teppanyaki restaurant, featuring theatrical chefs manning griddles surrounded by customers.

A new emphasis on live at-table creations and presentation of dessert is a change made at the 555 Fahrenheit steak restaurant on the Carnival Horizon.

On the Carnival Horizon, the Piano Bar 88 has been moved adjacent to the Fahrenheit 555 steakhouse, so that live piano music can be heard at dinner. A partition can be shut after dinner to close-off the piano bar from the restaurant.

Carnival Horizon is the line's first ship to use a ''destination-based'' elevator system. Passengers use a touch screen to choose their deck. Video monitors around the ship explain the new elevator system.

Carnival Horizon's Water Works play area has been rebranded with a Dr. Seuss theme, including the Cat's Hat and Fun Things waterslides.

The Funship Towel Animal mascot was prowling the decks of the Carnival Horizon on a preview cruise in the Mediterranean.
